If you are serious about your blogging, then you should be equally serious about cataloging and backing up your work as well. One of the best ways to do this is to convert your blog to PDF and essentially make an e-book out of your blog.
BlogBooker is an excellent site that allows you to do just that. In several easy steps, you will be able to turn your blog into an e-book for your safe-keeping or to share with your friends who always forget to check out your blog when you tell them to.
The site works with three of the biggest and most popular blogging websites – WordPress, Blogger and LiveJournal.
Here’s how it works.
For LiveJournal, all you really have to do is input your LiveJournal username and password. You must also make sure that your blog has previously been converted to UTF8 (click on the image to enlarge it).
BlogBooker will guide you through the process very simply, and it even provides a link at the bottom for you to check whether or not your blog has been converted to UTF8. You are also less likely to get errors in the process if you uncheck all of the listed features.
For WordPress you have to get an XML export of your blog, which is simple to do. Go to your WordPress Dashboard and then click on Tools → Export option.
Now click on “Browse” and find the XML file that you have saved on your hard drive. Underneath, enter the URL of your WordPress blog as well. Check all of the features you need, uncheck the ones that you don’t, and click on “Create your BlogBook.”
For Blogger you have to get an XML export of your blog as well. Go to your Blogger Dashboard and click Settings → Basic → Blog Tools → Export Blog.
Now click on “Browse” and find the XML file that you have saved on your hard drive. Underneath, enter the URL of your Blogger blog as well. Uncheck all of the features again, just in case, and click on “Create your BlogBook.”
The conversion process in all three cases is very quick, and within a minute of clicking “Create your BlogBook,” you will receive your final product in PDF format, which you can browse or save to your computer and then share or store for safe-keeping.
